Ran across this this morning and reviewed briefly. Sorted by state found Michigan's list kinda small but I assume this is reported by consumer...

Pretty cool.It listed the one and only in my town that only sells all grades of pure gas.I always try and stop there and they are usually cheaper also.

And, more than likely, you'll get somewhere around 7 -10% better fuel milage. That's just been experiance in my 4.3 GMC Sonomma.

Winter blend gas always gets worse mpg than summer blends.
That said, I notice a very slight decrease in mpg, much less than 7-10% in vehicles running e10.

I noticed a huge difference in the fuel. A couple months ago I drove to Houlton ME from home here in Nova Scotia where our station doesn't have ethanol. I drove all the way to Houlton on 1 tank of fuel. Got excited about the cheap price of fuel in the US and filled up as much as I could possible squeeze in there then went straight home. I ended up having to gas up again about 100 miles from home because I was within 30 - 45 miles of running out.

What's the elevation change if any from where you are in Nova Scotia to Houlton ME?
How much did you have left when you got to ME, and also what were you driving? Any other variables?

Those are good points and I can't 100% answer them all accurately of course, because like you say there are many variables. However, I am pretty sure that my home is lower than houlton me. I am just a bit below sea level here. I live in the valley next to the ocean. I was extremely close to empty when I arrived in maine. The temp (which has a huge effect on fuel mileage) was -20 (canadian) both ways. And I was driving a dodge ram truck. I brought back 100 lbs more than I went out with, but I have made long trips with 200 lb passengers before and never noticed that sort of difference in fuel mileage. Maybe it was something else, but it really seemed weird to watch the tank empty that fast.

I try to only run Shell V-Power 91 in my SRX. It's good stuff, 0% ethanol.

Yeah, that is odd. 200 lbs isn't much of a variable. I was just hoping you didn't say you picked up an enclosed 4 place trailer full of sleds while in ME.
The base gas that the ethanol is added to is a big issue with ethanol, to the point that a lower base fuel is used and the ethanol is added to raise the octane rating. If the base fuel is a good quality one, and then ethanol is added, you'll actually have higher octane than without ethanol.
Unfortunately many fuel companies like to cheap out and use a lower quality base fuel... Then the ethanol gets blamed when it's really the cheap base fuel ( the other 90% of e10) that should be getting the bad rap.

Notice the absence of stations in Michigan. I think there is one in Ispheming, but am not positive. At least I know the premium was Ethanol free last year.

?? - I counted 14.
This really sux. The whole Chicagoland and Milwaukee area is devoid of ethanol free gas. Hopefully I can hit either Appleton or Green Bay on the way to the UP and get some premium ethanol free gas for my sleds.

Not everywhere
I'm a fuel hauler, and the V-Power in my area absolutely has 10% ethanol in it. I don't even have an option to not chose Ethanol when loading V-Power....
Pretty cool if your area has V-Power without Ethanol, you're lucky!

Really really cool site...
Again I'm a fuel hauler, and I'm surprised to see a station anywhere near Denver selling fuel without ethanol!
I've been asking around and the closest place that I heard of was in Granby, which is a ways away. Come to find out that the Conoco plant is distroing fuel without ethanol to 2 stations within 20 miles of my house.
Thanks snomofo

Badger ave gas. It's at the end of summer street on badger ave just off of Wisconsin. I live one block south of summer st. on spring. If you ever see a lifted white Ford Ranger with a metallic blue cap, that's me.Viper Treats said:Rich,
