We just came back Orr, MN what a great time, great trails with good snow. We had 7 sleds in the group, 1 2010 Polaris, 1-2007 Attack w/ 1.25, 1-2006 Rage w/1.50" track 1-2006 Arctic Cat Crossfire w/1.25 track, 1-2004 Mountain Viper w/2.00" track 1-2001 MM600 w/2.00" track and 1-1998 MM600 w/1.50"track. The reason for the track profile is that none of the other sleds heated except for the Viper. The viper is bone stock not even a skip plate. The Viper also has a factory rear heat exchanger. This dog gone would kick out anti freeze and the temp light would come on about every 10 miles. We took the stat out and that helped a bunch but the light would come on but not as often. We also put on a set of scratchers which also helped but it still came on and when it did it kicked out water. Do any of you have an idea on what is going on. My son inlaw has owned this sled from new and it seems that it is getting worse every year.
i think some of the gear on those water pump strip ..never happend to me but i think it would be something too check ...

Are there bubbles coming into the coolant tank?? You may have a bad head gasket that is pushing the coolant out and turning on the temp light.

head gasket definetly will do that air pockets in your heat exchanger will do that also
