Hi all Im new here and i've got a problem. I did a search but could'nt find my exact problem. I was running fine last weekend when all of sudden i was in a ploom of fog . Sled threw all my anti freeze out the over flow. was very hot. blew the cap right off the bottle. filled it back up after cool down and it does not appear to be circulating...overheated again . Its funny cause when it cools down the coolant hoses colapse and when i open the rad. cap theres all kinds of suction , but whats left in the bottle will not siphon back in! I believe it a bad impellar, as i 've been hearing some strange sounding whirling noise from under the hood that seem s to corralate from the motor rev ing up and down. Has anyone have thoughts on this or have had simaler problem
thanks
Tyler

I am assuming you are talking about the 700 SX listed in your avitor?
If so, take the seat off and raise the back of the sled so that the bleeder ports in the cooling system (under seat at the back of the tunnel) are higher than the overflow bottle and rad. cap. Open the bleeders and slowly refill with coolant. The air should get forced out the bleeders as the SX's don't have a thermostat that needs to be open to completely fill the system. Once full, close the bleeders and then fill your overflow tank to the line on the bottle. Start the sled and look under the cap to see if the fluid is flowing. If so, put the cap on and then use the bleeders to let out any trapped air. If no flow, then you probably have an issue like a bad pump or blockage.

if you heard some strange whirling noise and it has been going on for a little while Its probably your impellar . happened to mine......over heated just like yours . pull the cover off and inspect.

well found the problem.. it was both it seems, the impellar was rounded off the shaft, and it also looks like the headgasket was blown, dont know which happened first or if one caused the other.. but im gettin on er today and fixin it. thanks guys

I would say that the impeller failed causing excessive heat to build up to a point where it had an advervse affect on the head causing it to warp slightly and blowing the head gasket. Check the head deck and make sure its not warped.
