have an 02 sx viper with 3000 miles on it.

list to do.
-c and a skies
-different rear skid.... maybe sc series or edge or pro x
- heel clickers
-boss seat.

looking for this thing to ride better and fly a bit better and be a bit quicker. what you guys think?

All sounds good.

This summer I plan on widening my running boards on my SRX...that will pretty well complete my sled until Yamaha hopefully builds a sled that excites me like the SRXs did!

Otherwise I guess I'll have to pick up an Apex and make changes to my liking...like 100lbs lighter for starters!!!!!

yea i know i love the four stroke but the things i do with the viper i just dont want to ride a 4 stroke. i really want yamaha to bring back a bad boy 700 tripple fully fuel injected that would be awesome. but for now just gonna try turning my sled in to a out of the ordinary viper.

We too are looking into upgrading the 02 Viper. I was looking at the Hartman 131" kit, but not sure how much it would help without changing springs and shocks also? Looked at Boss seat and they are just plain ugly, I am sure I can get a custom done for similar money.
But what can be done to lift the front end up an inch or two?

idk i was wondering the same thing coach. my brother used some black springs off from a rev. that helped alot. i may already have a extra 10 suspension coming. just throw in some better shocks and away i go i guess.

So we have decided not to do the suspension swap. Does anyone have any suggestions for working with what we have.
My son is riding this sled, about 150 lbs. He is young so he can still take the bumps better than us old guys. How about swithching out shocks and springs? Any suggestions?
I am willing to spend a bit, but not blow the budget at this point.

Ill take some slack as usual for this but upgrading to Ohlins in the rear made a world of difference along with BTV skid fix. Just sending all four shocks to pioneer for a revalve and rebuild for your sons weight and riding style will make a world of difference. That will cost you less than $200 for the rebuild.

I think there is a set Fox Float Shocks that fits the Viper. Brings the front of the sled up an inch or so.

I have a 03 sx viper mtn. heres what I am doing to it this summer.
Bender triple pipes
carbon fiber reeds and spacers
custom seat
new handle bars and bar risers
clutch kit
