I'm getting ready to buy my next sled, Thinking the stock Apex MTX, but might settle for a turbo'd RX-1 Mtn. I've had thoughts about selling my off 02 Mountain Max to fund my next sled, i have had a few offers, but I can't part with it quite yet. I'm starting to wonder if I should just keep it.

My track on my MM700 is 141
looking for 159+ on my next sled

Am I even gonna want the Mountain max after riding the RX/Apex???
I heard good things about the reliability of the mountain max, and I can say, Its treated me well.

Anyone that has any helpful info when making the call, or wants to give there opinion, fire away, Im interested in hearing what people have to say

Keep it, extend the track, and save yourself $11,000.
yeah i still gotta get a sled with reverse, my lower back has taken ALOT of damage, paddles on the 141 and 144 tracks i got in the garage are looking slightly damaged, that's a great idea though especially if I keep it!!! I think I'm going to goto 159" Thanks for your input!!!
has anyone done this??? i kept the 141 because I like jumping my sled, but is it a great difference in highmarking or carving with the 159, any other noticeable difference???
I have heard the best MODs to unlock the Beast are
1.Powder ski's (i have BRP Pilot ski's)
2.Riser bar (i have Powermadd 3.5")
3.Triple pipes( I have SLP)
4.extend to 159" track ->this is the only serious Mod I havent made
5.Roller clutch

I'd keep it! I may go with a newer sled next year (Doo XP or Poo Dragon), but plan to keep the viper and maybe even continue to tweak it as well. I find that these sleds are worth a lot more to keep around than they are selling. If you find that you don't touch it after getting the new one, then sell it.

Find a used Apex MTX (many can be had for $5000-$7000), you won't regret it. Lots of them out there with a bunch of mods to make them lighter. I've been on an Apex for 2 winters now and absolutely love it. The only part about the MM you might miss is the sound, that's it. I love the four stroke and not one thing to worry about. Just change the oil and go.

I wouldn't even consider an RX-1, the Apex with it's EFI and more rider forward is awesome.

I've rode a MM 141, SXViper 144, SXViper 153, Apex 162, Apex 174. I love the Apex's way more than the others listed and don't regret buying one at all. Any more ?'s just send me a PM.

Thanks Team!!!

Verdict is in , Were keeping it!!! were gonna pick up a used Apex and keep my Max as a snowboard sled unless it collects dust, And Ill use the Apex on days when Im not snowboarding.

I still got alot to learn about the Apex!!! Im stoked!!!
thanks for the info, especially SXlover!!!
anyone else got opinions??? I wanna hear them Thanks!!!!

I will say it'll be a bit of a learning curve to figure out the throttle, let off like a 2 stroke and you'll slow down fast, be ready to eat handlebars haha. You'll get used to it fairly quickly, you'll learn to use the throttle when you pull it up to sidehill but they ride the sidehill awesomely. You might miss the lighter front on the mtn max, in the trees you'll notice the heavy front of the Apex, but the Gen 2's do help to float.

I think i found an apex....
