03 Viper ER and 02 Vmax ER gears. Are they interchangeable?


I'm not 100% on this, but I was always under the impression that Vmax gears are NON-Hyvo gears, unlike the Viper's that are Hyvo. They won't mesh if you mix and match the gears and chains. You would be able to swap entire set-ups between the two, but not piece meal.

Somebody else back this up.

I know the older model vmaxs like the 97 are not the same as the viper. Last spring me and my dad both put new tracks in are sleds. The gears looked to be the same but i never did check them because we did one sled at a time. But when you go on any yamaha parts list of the gears both sleds have the same part numbers accept the first three numbers. I was told that the first three numbers tell the year and model of the sled. So i was wondering if they are the same.
