One of my friends has a 1998 SRX 700 with 2600 miles on it in mint condition with new 1.25 Ripsaw track for $1000. He needs money bad. Is their any concerns that would stop you from buying this year model sled? I figured it would be a fun cheap backup sled anyway. I even have another Pro-Active skid from a vector I could swap in it.It also has bender pipes on it.
Is it one of your riding buddies?? How well does he take care of it mechanically? Was the recall on the crank done? Personally if I could find any year SRX 700 for that price in good shape I would be all over it. You never know, your 120hp Vector might become your back up sled if you pull the trigger on an SRX 700. lol

I have a '98 and its a good solid sled. The only problem its really ever had from the original owner was the chaffed wire harness. Its got 5,000 miles on it now.

Thanks for the heads up on the crank recall I'll have to ask him about that! I always wanted an '01 if I picked one up but for the $$$ I guess I could always part it out if something major happened. I really don't know it's history as I never rode with him and I kind of wondered why it needed a new track at 2600 miles. Maybe he just wanted a bigger lug.
Deffinitely needed a taller lug then the 3/4" stock track. Plus the original track would be 13 years old and probably getting rotted and brittle
i run a 3/4" on my 01 and it hooks up fine with 144 studs.

crank issues would be my only concern. From what I have read its in the 2500+ miles they start havin problems. The crankinfo has a write up in the tech pages. I paid 2400 for my 00 in nov of last year with 2900 miles, sled looks more like 900 though.
