Have you guys been replacing clutch srings in the primary and secondary while restoring?

I have a 79 340 project that i've pretty well completed.

Full tear down, engine runs well, but i'm getting some bogging, not real performance like, etc. I believe its in the clutches. I've cleaned the clutches as well.

I realize I'm not 10 years old or 80 pounds anymore but i believe the sled has more potential...

Any advice? ;)!

found a smalled pilot helped but at the end of the day as soon as I put on a round slide 38 mik it cleaned right up. Ive also tried a few other Yami springs but found the stock one worked best for shift out. I did end up putting some washers(shims for a Doo) under the clutch spring to get a higher engagment. Also I went to a diff belt, 1108 dayco, it is wider so it rides up higher in the sec clutch then just inst a 20 thou spider shim on the clutch shaft to get proper belt to sheave clearence. I did that because the belt deflection is out on these also so its like starting in second gear.
