My 02 Viper misses and backfires through ex. @3000 rpm and under after riding a few min.
I'll let idle down and go again, all on,till I slow down again.
Eng. light did flash at one point, then went off,but still did the same thing.
Cleaned the PVs,but didn't change.
Any suggestions?

tors? check your throttle cable, make sure it has some slack in it.

I don't think plugs would cause eng. light to flash.
I did check slack in cable.
TORS is what I was thinking too.
Not sure how to check it,I'll have see my manual.
Is there an easy way to check it?

A quick test of the TORS would be to unplug the wires by the carb rack then plug the wires that come from the throttle back together. This completes the circuit and effectively bypasses the system. You can just leave the wires from the carb rack switch hang.
CAUTION
Just use this procedure to test the system as the safety system for a stuck throttle[which is why the THORS system is there] no longer is protecting you!

Be careful if you haven't recently done something that caused you to adjust the throttle cable tension. It might be engaging because it is doing its job...the cable is sticking because it is fraying or something.

x2 on this, i did this once and forgot it was bypassed, had the airbox off and hood up while it was snowing lightly, carbs froze wide open, didnt know it and i started it up and i went for a one handed ride straight for a big tree.
