Slow warmup
I have 4 of these sleds and that is pretty much the case. I just picked up a 98 SRX 700 and it seems even worse. I have been fou1ing plugs like crazy so far this year and discovered that the plug caps seem to go bad, corrosion or whatever they don't test at 5Kohms hope I have it worked out as I am on my second box of 10.

My '01 Poo 600 XC is the same way. Youve gotta play with the throttle and choke to keep it running. Even after 5 minutes of that it will still backfire occasionly for the first 5 miles.
Its kinda sad, my old Phazer started and ran 10 times better than this XC. And my Phazer was 11 years older!
