plug change on seat from 98 to 01

is it correct to splice the wiring on my 01 seat by putting the plug from my 98 seat onto my 01 seat.. my seat has had it and i have a nice seat from an 01 parts sled .. is this the correct way or should i be doing something different w/ out cutting wires??

Cut the plug off your old seat and put it on the newer seat. Solder the wires and use heat shrink tube for a water tight connection

which wires go to which im not looking at it right now but if i remember the wires were different..

2 0f the wires should be the same colour if i recall, just don't use the one that is the oddball.
