Can you use a stock heat exch. to convert to 136"

I used my stock rear heat exchanger when I put a 144" extension on. I had to modify the exchanger, but it was way cheaper than buying a new one. I had a good aluminum welder cut and re-weld the tubes so that the exchanger can be mounted in to top of the extension instead of the back. I have pictures of it in the photo section. The welder is close my house in Blaine. I think he charged me either 20 or 30 bucks.

Depends on what kit you get to extend the tunnel or if you make you own tunnel ext. What sleddineinar had done works really nice.
I took a little different route on my Viper. The tunnel ext kit I purchased was a 136-144 kit. I could not find a 136 only tunnel ext. I cut the back of the tunnel ext to shorten it to 136. This allowed me to used my original rear tunnel cap\bumper\snow flap mount or what ever you want to call it. This gave me the same fatory look and the same amount of room to install the exchanger.
In post #2 you can see the exchanger in the cut down tunnel ext. In post #12 there is a pic of what I cut off the 144 tunnel ext.

I liked what stein did, the reason I left my 144 ext intact with a 136 track and skid was that I have future plans to use a 144 track. I might actually add a larger SRX heat exchanger also, so I'll be changing my setup again. It's true what they say once you start modding it's hard to stop...

I happen to have a 144 extension that has been cut to accept the srx exchanger lying on the floor of my garage. Have the hose covers as well. If anyone wants/needs it, make me an offer I can't refuse.

this is what i did, you can see the photos at the bottom. finished product on top.
