Was out yesterday for what will be last ride of the season. The ride before I had to buy reg fuel @ the lake & It was questionable as after filling the DCS light was coming on when riding hard ... Am I correct in this ?? or should I be looking for other problems ??? This is my 1st sled & was told to run premiun fuel at all times , but sometimes it is not possable ..
What do you add for fuel enhancers??
Yesterdays ride I still had 1/2 tank of the lake crap fuel ,topped off with prem & was still getting a light when riding 7000/8000rpms++ at times .
Buddy tossed me a pint of STP octane boost & it worked .
What is everone else using ? Klotz ??
Pisses me off as the prem we get here is 91 at best & was $1.30+/liter and is still crap ...

THAT LITE DID WHAT IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO. SAVE YOUR MOTOR IF YA USE CRAP GAS. HAVE TO INCREASE YOUR OCTANE, HOW YOU DO IT IS YOUR CHOICE, BUT THATS THE PROBLEM. 3:16 (yammie tony)
My 2002 SRX needs premium++ fuel or it will trigger the DCS right away.
I have had good luck with Torco accelerator. I need to use it when picking up questionable trail side fuel at the smaller no name stations. Shell VPOWER has been the most consistant fuel to keep the DCS happy in my area.

that thing they call a trunk in the back is worthless but a bottle of octane boost will fit right in there. I run booster even in bone stock sleds these days. the gas quality has only gotten worse and you honestly cant have too much protection with a 2 stroke engine with the ethanol and who knows what else they have diluted the gas with. The booster wont make 87 into 91 but it can take the edge off fuel as you have found out after using it. I use the black bottle 104 brand, just dump a 1/2 bottle to a full fill up. A bottle here is $8, so thats 4 bucks for a fulltank, a piston cost $130 these days, so I figure its pretty cheap insurance.
