Pretty Nice Weekend here in Whistler, nice weather to get out and go snowboarding, Its been hard to find people to go sledding with a lot of my friends are broke down, or broke in the wallet. My brother finally fixed the creeping problem with his Summit and we managed to make it out yesterday and it was pretty awesome, with unlimited viability I got to explore a lot of new terrain.
Within 5 mins of entering the back country, Little brother ended up sending the Summit off a blind 7ft drop and Lawndarted his Ski-doo 90 degrees, (wish I took a pic of that). anyway got unstuck in 5mins, it was pretty buried in powder, so no Damage, and no one hurt.
Then I highmarked 200m up hill made it no problem, noticed sled sounded funny like a ski-doo, so obviously I realized I was running on 2 cylinders, A quick spark plug change and I was back in the game. got my formula 1 sound back!!!
*This pic of me was Shot on Whistler-Blackcomb, in the backgorund is the backcountry area I sled in*
were still getting powder here, Sledding season is not near over yet!!!

Sproat most of the time, I don't like to pay for parking at Brandywine.
last 2x out on the weekend theres only been 4-6 riders out in the back country via sproat. For how good the season is right now Im surprised were not seeing more.
Any TY Members ride this area???

I rode there back in 1996 till 2002 every winter visiting my brother there. He's been in whistler for 16 or 17 years now and knows the areas very well. Have you been past grizzly lake to snowcat? pretty sick back there. Hoping to get out there soon again to visit and ride.

theres been extreme danger around Grizzly lake this season, alot of sleds heli lifted out, most people have been advised to avoid that area. We did make a trek into that area, earlier this season, Theres some really fun stuff in there. I've been steering clear of it as of latly as alot of the people I ride with are still learning powder riding.

it's that good,so fun, I never get bored.
I highly reccommend Sledding the Whistler Backcountry, Its a whole new level of riding. 1st time in backcoutry I pulled an emotional freak out.
I was holding the throttle down for 2 mins straight, just blazing through open powder and all I could think of was.....
I LOVE MY SLED
I LOVE MY TRUCK
I LOVE WHISTLER
and it kept repeating its self in my head.
At this point I realized I found the Ultimate Sport for me... Back Country Sledding!!!
It's priceless!!!
If anyone is ever interested in coming out for a ride in Whistler next season let me know, theres a 90% chance I will be Working for Canadian Snowmobile guiding tours.

ill keep you in mind!!! i rode in some open fields this winter that were all powder( maybe a foot or so deep) and i was hooked!! after that the only time i rode trail was to get to the powder (which is hard to come by in NH). i was 1mm away from quitting my job and moving west for the riding.... if only!

Darn Tootin'
We find nice powder hills like that at least once a year here in Michigan . . . The problem is they are only a couple hundred feet tall
We still ride 'em anyway, but we are very jealous of course.

its been amazing 25+ feet of powder back there, so much landing snow
My friend took his Mountain max off that cliff i dropped on my snowboard and landed it at least 5x with no serious impact.
Cant belive theres still lots of powder out there
