just getting ready for the ashpalt. i have had the jugs race ported, case ported, heads cut for race fuel and bored carbs. going to run stock pipes. just looking for a baseline setting to start with.

Agreed. You're going to attempt to run 8500 rpm pipes on a 9800 rpm motor. It is not going to work well. Do yourself a favor, and get a set of race pipes.

no money for pipes this year when i told guys that did the work they didn't seem concerned about running stock pipe for this year. they said just to turn it to 8500rpm. they have done this on other engine. said it would make about 160+hp on stock pipes.

i have hauck hi-rpm pipes and hi-rpm cdi for a '01 srx for sale. would work tons better for ya at 9800 versus the stock pipes at 9800. pm me if interested.

why dont you get the specs from the guys who actually built the engine instead of asking on a public forum, dont you think youd get more specific information regarding your engine from the actual engine builder?
