Hey guys, I was wondering if viper pipes would work on an srx,Finding used srx bigbore pipes is slim to none, So i was thinking of trying viper pipes on my 780 srx, viper pipes seem to work better with mods than stock srx pipes do, So srx pipes being the limiting factor for mods i was hoping the viper pipes would work better for the mods i have in mind. I am thinking more aggressive porting and maybe a little more compression. Ive got to do a little research first of course. So what do you guys think? Let me know. Thanks

No, lets leave it at that. Use big bore pipes for the srx

LOL!!! I didnt even think of that, but im sure i could work around that with a bit of cutting and welding. Anyone else? Being the same bore and stroke i would think it would work, concerned about maybe the cdi and the timing. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I thought about it a bit more, there is just too many problems to contend with, CDI, Timing, fit, cylinder differences, chopping up the srx to put the viper hood and cowling, Bad Bad Idea. LOL It was just a spur of the moment question without much thought put into it. Thanks anywayfusion 69 said:No, lets leave it at that. Use big bore pipes for the srx

As you have already found out the viper pipes will be designed to run above and beyond the srx ign. sytem. The pipe length is differnt between a viper and a srx, as the exh port is much shorter on a viper. If you were to put that pipe on a srx cylinder the engine would yield low top rpm because the pipe would be too long. Theres other things that dont work also like the exh. flange bolt pattern, viper use a oval exh port and srx round, srx cdi box would have too little ign timing for the pipes design.
