I have a 2002 SX Viper with triple pipes. I can get it to a top speed of 125 and it accelerates very well but I would be willing to sacrifice some top end for a little more acceleration. Right now I can pick the front end up pretty well but only in the right snow.
I am pretty sure it has the stock gearing 22/38. Is changing the gearing the easiest way to get better off the line? If so what gearing is best?

well, yes, gearing will make the sled get up and go faster, but it will also make it spin the track easier in snow, sometimes resulting in overspin. What clutching is in the sled?

What brand of pipes do you have?
What RPM are you running at wide open?
121" track?

I don't know what the pipes are. They were on there when I got it and there is no label. RPMs is just under 10000 and it is a 121"

Post a picture of the pipes. 10,000 RPM sounds too high for any "trail" Viper Pipes.
it's mph. I'll post pics tomorrow.
no way that sled does 125 mph, and if it did it would have to be tuned to perfection and running on glare ice....they look like cpr pipes

MAYBE...and Just MAYBE... there are 8 tooth drivers in it, w/o correcting the speedometer gear, and it is reading 25mph+/- off at top speed.

I can't tell what brand of pipes those are...someone will know.
I agree that 125mph is a little [ LOL!] optimistic but you wouldn't be the first person that has had a wake up call by a dream killing GPS unit...the dreamo meters have fooled a lot of people.

Those are CPR pipes, they run at 9100rpm
Yeah I should have said it was on the speedo. I haven't tried a GPS yet but I was pulling away from Mach Z 800s and any 600 that tried. Any way I am still interested if anyone has gearing suggestions.

Friend had a viper that was bender piped and clutched. His gearing was 21/39 and he was beating 700's, 800's, 900's and 1000's. Said it went like hell. Mine right now is 21/38 but i want it to be 21/39 though.
