any benefit in re jetting my 99 the same as the 01? i will be going through everything over the summer and would it be noticeable increase in power? also considering doing the poor mans port job because of the cost, thanks

As far as the jetting going to 01 will help you be a bit safer on wide open long runs. A search on srx jetting will give ya tons of reading. If it were mine with todays gas i would go to the 01 jetting. The 02 had the DCS. Chris

i have read that the smaller jets would of course make it a little leaner therefore more power? or more fuel more power? but not too much because engine will overload and bog out,

For the 99 year sled put the larger jet on the mag (right) side........

With the deteriorating quality (octane) of today's gasoline, you'd be far better off jetting for reliability rather than power. Unless you are going to be using a mixture of racing gasoline, you need to jet richer throughout the throttle range. I had a nasty engine failure on a completely stock 2000 SRX, after 13000 perfect miles on the sled and yes, the carbs were clean. I am installing the 2001 jetting in both of my 2000 SRXs for next season.
