Supposidly a 4lb loss and 4hp gain. IMO the 4X4 pipe is a waste of time and money. Triple pipes are the only way to go IMO.

Snopro If this helps ya I have the complete stage tuning article on the Viper from the Dec 2001 copy of Snowtech magazine. Yes they dynoed the Bender single pipe and made 127.7 peak vs 121.2 hp (stock pipe) in that article. Both peaks came in at 8600 rpm. If u need any additional info let me know.
Oh by the way, that pipe sheds 4 pounds of weight.

Come to think of it I may have that copy too. If you buy one try using your stock silencer with it. I have heard that works better than any can added on to it.

thanks guys, we used to get the snowtech, but that when i was younger (and dumber) hahaha, just looked at the pics. I'll take my 200 dollar pipe over triples any day, i can't afford to ride with triples on my viper.

$200? Not bad considering you just don't find these around very much.

snopro- was wondering if that pipe is basically the same size and shape as stock? i noticed that there is a baffle in the stock pipe. wondering if it is robbing some power. was thinking of getting used stock pipe and experimenting, if this pipe u have is close to the same size and shape.

this is the best image of the pipe i have. the pipe is fatter then tapers off sooner than the stock pipe. it is lighter. and the metal it is made of is thinner. the pipe gets cold quickly because it doesn't have a heat shield and i can't get heat wrap to stay on it.... oh well, just gotta make sure it's good and hot before i line up haha

hey snopro thanx. would be a project but u could get some packing material i think u can get some similar to what is on stock pipe. take some thin aluminum sheet metal, have to do it in sections, wrap a section and use those large banded clamps i think u can get them at hardware or home depot join 2 smaller ones if u have 2. first take some construction paper or similar get a piece cut out that wraps nicely around the section, and u are happy with it, then cut out sheet the same. install that section. helper advisable. move on to next section. wont add much weight. looking at that pipe i would say 3 sections starting at first curve with 6 clamps. put seam on bottom let it overlap a little. wont look bad if u get paper cutouts shaped right. take your time. wrap packing in place with a little tape or string. be worth the effort for a small price.

just to clarify i would put packing in place first, then size and shape paper so it wraps in place nicely, copy to sheet metal, then wrap and clamp.

meant to say 3 sections starting just after first curve. really wont be a bad project actually. thanx again for pic.

Yes I remember Snowtech and another member saying this. One guy on here said his was ceramic coated which helps alot. I'd like to see you do some testing against a constant other sled:
1) several runs with your current setup
2) several runs with the Bender pipe dumping into the stock silencer
Easy enough to do. Just wear some good gloves while changing silencers so you don't burn your hands.
When I installed a ceramic coated Bender 4x4 Pipe on my 02 Viper with the stock silencer I got an over rev of 500rpm. So, yes it does allow the motor make more power. My mileage stayed about the same after reclutching. Midrange power seemed to be stronger with the pipe.

wish i could find a used one of them 4x4s. not likely probaly. taking baffle out of stock pipe might sound better but may not do much else. might be less power hard saying.

I have heard there is a baffle in the stocker but I haven't had one apart. I have cut open a stock silencer though. Three seperate chambers in there.

i really need to get a used one in case it is a bad idea. might detune it somehow. i could just leave well enuf alone, but will never know if it is worth doing or not. i dont think it will make it a lot louder. hopefully it sounds meaner and runs at least as well. ????? until tried.

i plan on tuning my sled with the silencer changes, then when i find the best combo i'll be touching the clutches
