Has anyone run these weights in a srx? my new to me has them in it,they look similar to 8bu's, we tried those last year and they were to heavy and our other srx would not pull them for deep snow/trail, any info on these?

89A-10 ARE GOOD WEIGHTS AND SHOULD WORK NICE FOR YA. GIVE MORE DETAILS HERE. 3:16 (yammie tony)
I have those weights. They work great.

i've ran them weights too and they work fine. they aren't as aggressive during upshift as the 8BU's. the backshift was a little slower than what i'd like on my last setup, but the upshift seemed fine.
OK, so are these good trail weights or should they only be used for lake/speed/drag runs?

For strictly trail riding and good backshift you might be better off with 8DN-20 weights. If you want good upshift and hole shot 89a-10s will get the job done.

I AGREE. 89A-10 ARE GOOD WEIGHTS FOR HARD LONG LAKE PULLS. 3:16 (yammie tony)
Well that is kind of what I thought,I guess I need to find a set of 8dn-20 weight's then, thanks to all.

So for an asphalt set up where backshift is not needed, should I start with 89a-10s or 8bu-10's? I also was wondering a good helix to start with. I was thinking a 50/42 with the 89a-10s. Other ideas are appreciated.

Corey, for 89a10 on tar try 2.4 in first hole, 4.5 in tip,w/w/w/ primary, your 50/42 helix with green at 70
2nd option:
8bu00 weights, .8 in first hole, 4.5 in tip, w/w/w/ primary, straight 47 helix with green at 80
