I saw in the tech update manual for this (2001) year that the 2001MM had been set up for high altitude clutch wise (6500-10000 ft) and that the shift speed should be 8300. We live at near sea level 60 meters above (about 180 feet) and he never goes riding over 1000 (3500 feet). I tested the sled and noted that it would rev up to 8600-8700 if you held it really long... Whats the best thing to, just add some weight to the weights and get a hauck roller secondary kit, or go for a local speedshops clutch kit? I'm not sure about the contents of the kit but the shop has won some drags with their srx...

Just add some weight to the primary to bring rpm,s down!!! Your gonna have to add about 3-4 grams. 8700 rpm ain,t that bad & your still making decent power while getting good backshift.
