Can a newer AWD mini van with towing packing tow a 2 place enclosed trailer?

Its a new Kia with a V6

I have an '06 Satrun Vue AWD with the 3.5L V-6 and it will out-pull my '97 Chevy K1500 with a 5.7L Vortec all day long so I don't see why you couldn't pull with your Kia especially since it has a towing package.

Yep it is all in the ratings. I have gone way over in the past (like 15,000 lbs of backhoe and trailer behind a 1/2 ton pickup). However, I have had my incidents too.

Especially in ice and snow I would not run over the rating if at all possible.

Ever seen a trailer yank a vehicle around because it outweighs it?

It may pull it, But will it stop it ? I pull my 7x12 landscaping trailer with my 07 Z-71 but under full load its hard as hell to stop sometimes. I installed drilled/slotted rotors with towing pads and it helped..some.

I would say yes. I used to pull a 10x12 trailer with 2 sleds behind a ford ranger with a bumper mounted ball. I had a 6 banger in it but it was a dog for sure. 55 at most all the way but it did the job for a long time. :)

I have decided to go with they Chevy Traverse. It has all I need, 4WD, tow package room for 8 and I can get pricing in the mid-20K$

Gets about 25 MPG. If I need extra room, I can throw some baggage inside the front of the trailer

ive seen chevy cavalier show up at boat launch with a ciggeretter boat with dual mercury 502s im sure that kia would whip that trailer

Thanks everybody.

I went with a 2012 All Wheel Drive Chevy Traverse 1LT package. It has the 281 HP V6 and is a rather large SUV. I had the dealer order it from the factory with several options that I chose. It has a tow CAP of 5,200 LBS and gets 16/23 for mileage. He is a picture of it as equipped but missing the roof rack.

It seats 8 people;)!

I saw a guy at a local boat launch last night towing a beautiful 18' lund fully equipped with a traverse last night. You'll have no problems pulling 2-4 sleds in/on a trailer.

I bought a 2011 ford escape 2wd and it can pull around 3500... Im sure it will be fine. I used a buddys 2wd F150 with a 6 popper and it and pull them as well. Im sure the Traverse will work out fine for ya.
