Yeah its to be expected. The "fringe" members that cant ride arent scrambling for info how to hurriedly slap their sled back onto the snow so Im sure it will be quiet till about hmmmm... late november.
Happens every year, gets quiet in here until the snow flys again. Guys like me don't seem to get on here that often since we are "trying" to get the crop in, but yet it rains every 3 days, so you can about imagine how well that is going.

Farmers around here are in the same "boat", no pun intended. LOL. The rain just keeps comming. Most corn fields around here are still under water. I know it slows down in the summer but just seems extra quiet this spring. But it could be just me as i cant get sleds out of my head no matter what time of the year. I think im even worse in the summer as im thinking of all the things i want to do to improve my sleds and ride. Plus i love working on them. Chris

i was wondering if the new rules for classified as well as the "moving" of this post and that post and the constant reminders to view the faq section hasnt had a ripple effect on the way the newer or "fringe" members are welcomed to the site. just thinking out loud.

I don't hear anything, you need to borrow some Raid? Crickets are annoying in the house.

a lot of us have street or dirtbikes to ride in the summer, or jet skis, boats. Not everybody needs to wrench on thier sled all summer. I just get on to look at the random picture thread.

By all means I cant agree more, as I have a streetbike myself. I still spend lots of time on here and wrenching on my sleds just for the sake of me always promising never to be "that guy" with the sled that is always holding everyone up due to failure and breakdown. I personally however like watching ebay and craigslist trends as they spike depending on whether or not there is snow on the ground or sunny warm days as to what "toys" are selling like hotcakes... The impulsiveness and procrastination of folks sometimes amuses me, just like many of my friends that I snowmobile with, that always wait till peak prices and the snows already flying to get their sled ready to roll. Then I see their frantic posts they are putting on the Green and the Yellow forums that always have exclamation points and what not that are showing their dire need to figure out a problem because they wouldnt take the time to wrench. Hell, even make improvements for that matter.
Just a personal feeling by any means...
I have a house to do yardwork on and paint and a boat to get out of storage and a cabin to open up. But, you can bet that later on this summer when things settle down a little I will be going over the sled with a fine tooth comb and getting everything ready for winter. Things made of metal rubber and plastic are a lot more compliant in the summer.
Plus I was getting ready for the end of the world!

Ouch not sure if thats a dogin or not. I have plenty to keep me busy in the summer and love summer. I have a house on lake huron, seadoo's and a sugar sand beach to lay on and drink plenty of beer looking like a beached whale, (its not pretty). I just really enjoy working on the sleds in my spare time. Out in the garage, the poorly playing tigers on the radio, a cold beer or two, maybe a buddy stopping by for some BS'n. I find it very relaxing to be able to take somthing apart (broke or not) and be able to fix it or whatever. As the moto goes "keep fixin it till its broke". I really enjoy it when i can get my daughter out their working on her sled. Not only are we having fun but she's learning some cool stuff too. She'll thank me for that some day when she finds out how much guys dig girls that know about that kinda stuff LOL!! Just not to soon . My 2cents foooooooor sure. Chris

i agree with superc1. although im lacking in the summer motor toys, i do have a camp on lake umbagog which can be very relaxing. but i also find that having a vision of what i would like my sled to do or look like and then making that vision a reality with my own two hands is a very satisfying feeling. and it makes all the bashed knuckles/loss of skin/cussing/stripped bolts worth it
