I have developed an oil problem this season on the wifes sled. It had been consuming/spilling oil the last half of the seaon. I can't see where it is coming from. I started taking it apart today and found oil in all three openings of the air box. I was hoping maybe there was just a leak in the oil line somewhere but I am now wondering what would cause it to get into the airbox along with leaking from the oil resevoir down. Is this a problem with the oil pump? I also can't figure out where the oil cable is to check it's condition.
Could anyone be of any help?
Thanks,
Smurf

http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=68008&highlight=oil+pump+adjustment some oil in the airbox is normal. Here is a post about oil adjustment. Follow # 4 by daman for adjustment specs. Start their and post back. Its not your exact sled but adjusts same way. Chris
I've had air boxes off many times and never even close to this much oil. It is actually puddled in the boot. Also oil all over from the resevior down to the belly pan. I will definetely read the post you forwarded to see if it's any hope. Does seem like it's something more than just an adjustment though.
Thanks for the response. I'll forward what happens from here.
