rx-1 mountain front bumper

I am a new owner of a 2003 rx-1 mountain and am new to snowmobiles. While unloading my sled from a trailer yesterday, I attempted to shift the sled by the front bumper and it broke. I then went to ebay and saw that the piece of plastic was around $100 for a used bumper. Has anyone else had this problem or was this just my unlucky day? Does anyone make an aftermarket bumper from metal that is stronger?
