Loosen track as much as you can, remove front, rear and middle mounting bolts and wiggle it on out. Do your work then wiggle it back in install front mount rear mount then slide under it and lift the middle mount up and put the bolts in there. Tighten the track and your done.

Removing and Replacing Your Pro-Action Suspension

Remove your pro-action skid frame by slightly elevating the rear of the sled so the track is about 2" off the ground. Using a 17 mm and 19 mm wrench loosen the rear shaft slightly. Take a 14 mm socket and ratchet and release the track tension. Be sure to count the turns equally off the rear adjusters. (This will aid you in slipping the stock suspension back through the track.) Next remove the (6) 14mm bolts from the tunnel and drop the skid to the floor.

Raise the sled high enough to slip the suspensions out the side of the track.

To replace the suspension. Be sure the rear wheels are adjusted equally. Lower the sled to help get the suspensions to slide between the track. Start at the front mounting bolts 1st. Before putting the center mounting bolts in Remove the bolts in the ends of the control rods or weight transfer rods. This will remove the preload of the rear shock .

Once the center mounting bolts are aligned and started then proceed to the rear bolts. Start by putting the control rod bolt back in and tighten until the rear mounting bolts are aligned. Your will need to lower the rear of the sled as you tighten the control rod bolts.

Go back through all of your bolts and tighten thoroughly.

Adjust the rear idlers for proper track tension and you are all set.

Any questions feel free to email the Webmaster.

This is from the tech section on the home page. Its under suspension. I can never get it to work as a link so i just copy and pasted it. (if anyone can give me a heads up on how to link from tech section that would be cool). This is how i do mine and it seems to work pretty good. A couple of tips to help would be to use strips of wood, pvc or whatever to help the skid slide over the lugs. I use a thin roll up winter sled, Works good. Another pair of hands is nice too. It will take some tuggin and pullin, a few cus words and a tool or two thrown but it will come and line back up just fine. The more you do it the better you will get. I do all of them each year and im getting much better at it.

if you remove the wheels first, skid will really come out easy without hooking up on the lugs inside.Have to change all my bearing this time,so all the wheels will come off first, then skid. Then replace bearings in drive line.

back off adjusters and retighten rear shaft

back off transfer bolts about 1/2in

loosen fra and put in upper hole

These first three things make the skid smaller and aid in removing from track later and will make it go back in easier

hang sled so it just touches the ground, remove all bolts

lift sled till front w arm is even with lower part of frame

it will now pull out easily by lifting on rear axle up and down working it tward you, then when the rear is out, just roll it back

skid goes back inthe same way.

set skid next to sled, lift sled till w arm will fit under frame at the drive axle

now roll skid back , aim the front of the skid for the middle of the axle and roll it into the track

lift up and down on the skid at the rear axle pulling it tward you

now pull back on skid and lower sled down, skid will roll up around axle and into place

install front bolts do not tighten any bolts till all are in

lower rear of sled onto rear shaft, use putt knives to guide it up past thos dam plates that always catch and put bolts in

now lift sled up, the weight of the sled will lift the fra arm up into place install bolts

tighten everything down

if this is a different skid or you installed a new front shaft you will want to loosen the drive shaft bearing tap it back and forth a few times and make sure there is not side load on it from the skid or shaft being a little narrow or wider then retighten

once you learn this method it takes a few minutes to remove and install without any heavy lifting or pulling

to set it up look below

Im going to give this a try!

why doesn't someone make a video of taking a skid out..super..you up to it??? If I had a good camera and editing program..I would do it..but don't...Even a video of taking the whole chaincase, gears, shafts and bearing off would be cool..step by step.Mind you if you have done it a few times,it isn't that hard to do..but still..nice to have on hand.

I dont have a video camera, but i can see what i could come up with. I have to do all those reverse kits yet so the chain case thing might be a possibility. I have no idea how to edit so maybe someone else could do that. Let me see on the camera first.

Taking the skid out is the easy part. How about making a video of putting the mf back in! lol
