Got the SX running today!!

Thanks for all the help thus Far.

I still have a few things to iron out:

seems to back fire when I rev it up
coolant leak at the joint on top of the head (easy fix)
seems to be pushing gas out of one of the carb vent lines
align the clutches


SO I have few more questions....

I had it started today without the air box installed. So that may be the cause of the back-fire...??

BR9-ES are the correct plug to run correct?

What would cause the fuel to be coming out the vent lines?

Any other suggestions on how to get this sled dialed in would be great!

Sounds like you need to clean the carbs for sure and check the float levels. Also run it with the airbox on and you will notice a difference.

I cleaned the carbs already. But I suppose I can check the float levels again...ill clean the carbs again as well.

Im sure it will run better with the air box, but the backfire has me wondering.

i have to run BR9ES plugs in my sx500r not shor about the 600.

didnt hear any specific backfire, but it almost sounded like the tors was activating. does it start doing that right around 3000 rpm?

if you have fuel coming from a vent line off the carb its either a stuck or bad needle and seat or the float.

you should be fine with the ES plugs. i think the ECS was recommended on the 600.
