What year sled is this..what's different?

What is the sled on the right? What is different?

I was told this is a 99 Yamaha Venture 500? But after looking more the 99 came with a teal green hood.

Looks like the hood was changed... 99s had like a hunter green.

Looks like the hood was swapped and de-badged from either a VMax deluxe or SXR. Also, the seat length is proper for being a 500 (485 fan also same). The 600/700 ventures had seats which extended to the edge of the tunnel.

Looks like it was repainted. Would explain the different stickers too.

I would say it was a repaint. The tunnel is the correct length and color for the venture. Note that the hood has the holes for the mirrors, so it was a venture or Vmax/Deluxe that had factory mirrors. The SXR would not have those holes.

Can't blame a guy for liking Yamaha blue!

Didn't the 99s have plastic skis. This one should have had blue loops also.
