i know this has been beat to death , and i also know that i should be going off the plugs to make sure im ok , but what kind of temps are you seeing on your egt gauges?? mine idles at about 450deg. then at 5-7 grand it shoots up to 1000-1225 deg. and then if i pull the trigger she goes down ... i have heard guys say 1250 is max and other say 1375 because of prob placement .i still need to make so test runs and check plugs at all ranges but was interested to see what everybody else was seeing ....

I would do a nice long run where it runs the hotest, then check plugs, and wash. temp depends on your probe placement, sounds like you have them about 7"-8" away from piston skirts? Sounds like 1/4-1/2 throttle might be lean? Mine runs hottest at about 3/4 throttle, around 1300-1350, but my probes are 9 1/2" away from skirts. I would say 1250 limit at 7 1/2"?????
