Ihave a mr. viper motor for my drag sled and can't get it out of the hole, it boggs bad, when first started testing it was about every 4th pass, now it is every pass. Did all sorts of jet changing and clutch set ups. Gonna try a new fuel pump and if that don't fix a stator is next. Any ideas? Hopefully crank isn't takin a squirt.

Does it clear out after
An initial bog?carbs clean? P. Valves clean? How are your plugs looking?

Cleaned everything, also have another of his motors and everything is fine, this one isjust bein a peckerhead, like I said, fuel pump tomm. then stator after that, if that don't fix it, gonna part the sled and move on. Damn this sport is expensive.

also just make sure your motor mounts are tight----had a bog on my SX and dickin with all sorts of stuff and it was a loose motor mount....lol

You are right about this sport being expensive!

Bogs out of the hole can be hard to sort out. Normally people immediately think its jetting but most times its a clutching and/or belt issues.
When drag racing with increased horsepower and traction your clutches have to be in LIKE NEW condition. Any belt slip or tension issues on either or both your primary or secondary will create havok and obviosly calibration of both clutches must be spot on and matched to perform properly. Snow is very forgiving and hides many clutching deficiencies but when you are hooking up on grass/ice/or pavement everything has to be spot on! Raising engagement can work sometimes to overide problems.
LOL!!! Thats why I always stayed with snow drags!

WE JUST CURED A PROBLEM WE HAD ON A 700 SX TAR SLED BY CHANGING NEEDLE POSITION. SLED HAD A NASTY SKIP OR FLAT WHEN YA HIT IT HARD. WHAT A PAIN IN THE *** JOB THAT IS. THANKS TO THE HELP OF SRX154 (mike) HIM AND I GOT IT DONE. TOTALLY TOOK SKIP AWAY. THIS DOSE NOT SOUND LIKE YOUR PROBLEM, WHEN YOU SAY BOG, LIKE BOB SAYS ALOT OF TIMES ITS CLUTCHING. WHAT DON SAY TO DO. 3:16 (yammie tony)

whats your engagement Andy..raise rpm engagement wise and get a super hole shot...

maxx white 5000
maxx blue 5300 with shim
just a slight bog and plugs look good with these 2 springs

working on the Heel clickers right now, plus I don't have an engagement notch on the HC's so kinda stuck with 4900 ;)!
