Hi,
Thanks to those of you that have helped me figure out what skid to buy to replace the No-Action in my SRX.
I bought a used IQ skid, supposedly from a demo sled, less than 100 miles..it does seem to be in great shape.
Front shock is Ryde FX, rear shock is Fox PS 5.
So now for the install..keeping in mind I am a complete NEWBIE with zero experience, I have a couple questions:
(1) Front Shims: The IQ skid is 1 inch narrower than the No-Action. I have read 2 different posts on TY about this install, and one guy used 1/2" thick x 5" aluminum plates, the other guy used 3/8" thick x 7" aluminum plates, but also had a successful install. Which size should I get?
(2) Rivets: I have read that getting Stavex rivets is a good idea. How many will I need? What size should they be?
(3) PS5 Shock: I have read many people say this is soft and needs to be rebuilt often, but it looks to be in great shape, so I was thinking of leaving this alone for this season...
(4) .405 Torsion Springs: Considering I am 260 lbs with gear and not on Jenny Craig ..I am strongly leaning towards the .405 square torsion springs.
(5) X-Click: Is this necessary with the Fat Boy springs? Would I really need that "4th" position with Fat Boy springs?
Also..last question..
How big of a lug can I run with this setup? Can I do a 1.25" Ripsaw or Hacksaw with studs, or will it hit the protectors? Does it depend on where I place the rear mounts?
Sorry for so many questions...but I have never done this before!

Okay maybe too many questions..I am going with the Fatboy springs...
The key question I need answered to get going is about the shims and rivets..3/8" or 1/2" shims, and what size rivets should I use?
