Groovy Sled. What are th specs you recommend for the twins, same as the triples?

the notch could be smaller but to keep it simple, just going to keep it the same

what do these notches achieve and how difficult is it to complete?.... Will it in any way affect the feul consumption in a positive respect?...
Thanks...
Thanks...

you will gain throttle response....and about 3 to 4hp from what I remember http://www.totallyamaha.com/snowmobiles/aaTECH/ReedNotch/Reed_Notch.htm

I just finished notching the reed stops on my 500. What got me is you can actually see where the fuel has been blasting the reed stops. Hopefully I can figure out how to post a pic and you can see what it mean. This made a very noticable difference in throttle response. I've been testing in my field that is 600' long and about 3 inches of snow. On a rolling start around 25-30mph after it has shifted, when I pin the throttle it will backshift and carry the ski's until I have to let off. I would say it has cut the throttle response lag in half compared to where it was before this mod. Tomorrow we are going to go play in a bigger field with about 10" of snow. Should get a better idea then.[/img]

can't wait to do mine! Oh wait, I don't think I will now, forget anyone read this post

Small question.. I have seen something on a page that this mod was mostly for Sxr and not Srx. Any truth in that or does it also help on Srx engines?

it does nothing for the SRX motors...the intake port is not covered on that motor..
Damn, should have been a few easy hp:s.. So there are no "small" mods to do on Srx sleds then?

other then clutching nothing that can be done...unless you can machine the heads , cut and weld the head pipes or port.

Would there be any advantage having both reed spacers and notching ?
