Reverse on SRX loss of top end speed ?

It's been a long time since I put the reverse on mine so I couldn't really tell you what the difference in top speed is,if any,but in theory you can gear the sled for the same final ratio as what ever you want.Just alter the top gear to get the desired gear ratio as you are stuck with the one and only bottom gear.

I put reverse on a viper once and never noticed any difference in top speed, very minimal if there was a difference. Don't really know if it effected e/t but didn't notice so it must have been minimal also if any. Well worth having though. Vipers are not geared for top end like the srx, your top gear on the srx has 1 more tooth than the viper one, as long as u keep that srx gear u shouldn't notice a difference

no loss on a trail sled....even on radar. if you have a 2000 or newer srx use the srx top gear & chain. will give the same ratio you now have.

There has been info on this previously if you do a search.
All the "Pro Action - Trailing Arm"Yamaha[SXs.Vipers,Mountain Maxs,+ Phazer] reverse kits will fit with some requiring gear/chain changes as all the 2000 up sleds use Hyvo chain and gears that are not compatible with pre 2000 conventional silent chain/gears. There are also some slight gear size variances between these kits but thats it.

PS... I have a Mountain Viper kit on my 2002 SRX and it is one of the best improvements I have made to this sled.

I was going to take a year off , i sold my 2007 Apex GT but always missed the low slung way a Srx or Viper handled the twisties. I figure to get back into the sport this year with not alot invested into a mint srx might be the way to go !
