Gentlemen,
Does anyone have a success with setting up the stock suspension of an 06 Apex 162 with a BD Turbo for boondocking in the deep powder for a large 250 # guy? I have heard that you just throw the stock system away but I was hoping to utilize this system for awhile before having to throw down $1500 for a hole new skid and track?

better off to post this in the 4-stroke side..since this is the 2 stroke side..some of us here are clued out when it comes to 4 smokers..lol
Had a 07 Apex 162 with stock suspension...no turbo...just set the torsion spring on hard in the back...not sure about front shock though, always had a blast boondocking with it.
I can tell you right now that if you want to do any climbing with that sled just drop the money on a suspension now, you won't regret it.
I'd go with K-mod or Timbersled. Currently run a Timbersled rear on my stock 08 Apex 174" and you can loosen the skid up for a little ski pull or you can set it up so when you hit the throttle it transfers and the skis stay down. They include recommendations for turbo setups as well. Had issues with the Barkbuster front end and their customer support and service is great and they do stand behind their product.
I've rode 2 Arctic Cats with K-mod suspensions. A M1000 turbo and an M7 with everything but turbo...the K-mod's work well, can't tell you about customer support though since I've never personally dealt with the.
Also know a guy that runs an Ez-Ryde on his Powderlites Nytro, says he loves it and it works well climbing and on the ride out.

May want to ask this question over in the turbo section of the 4 stroker side. You'll get more responses in my estimation. This is the old school 2 stroker side.sanddanw said:Gentlemen,

Now if you have questions about your mountain max mothballed in your garage, you come right back here and ask away!
