I would like to change the chain case oil in my 94 vmax 600 ST. Is there any tips or tricks on doing this. This is my first sled that I actually own and am unsure of how to do this. Please help

its actually really easy once you find out how to do it. i'm not 100% sure if its the same for your year of yamaha but usually if you lay down on your back and feel alon the inside of the tunnel on the chaincase side towards the front of the sled you'll feel a bolt thats usually square and this will be your drain plug. twist it off, let it drain out, and then fill it back up. your dealer should sell the lube in little bottles and one bottle is usually more than enough. also, before you fill it up, take the dipstick (thats on the chaincase under the hood) and remove it and clean off the magnet. snug up the bolt, fill it up, and your ready to go! hope this helps!
also check the chain tension with the bolt under the hood it should be near the dipstick, the bolt screws into the chaincase, loosen the jamb nut and screw the bolt in finger tight, hold the bolt with the proper size wrench as you tighten the jamb nut,and now your all set

Your 94 is a little different then the above post.
It has no drain plug, you just have to take the cover off to drain the fluid.
Also it has no dip stick to check the level. There is a 10mm bolt head in the middle of the cover about 2" up from the bottom. Take that out and fill until fluid comes out of that bolt hole.
