I am looking for an '02 Viper crankshaft. Does anyone have a good true one that i can drop right in? Does anyone know if a '00 SRX 700 crankshaft will drop right in to my viper cases? I know that the bearings and seals on the SRX 700 are of the same part# as those used on the '02 Viper and that the counterweights are of different design, but can anyone tell me if it will work without any modifications? It is almost impossible to find a viper crank but there seems to be a lot of SRXs. Thanks!

I believe a crank from a 2000 or newer SRX will work but they are different designs. From what I have read, the case from a 2000 or newer SRX would also work but the pre 2000 have a different stator pickup mounting location so they won't work. I just bought a crank. I also bought a case at haydays. I had my case welded, but opted for a "like New" case instead since I am already this far into it. I don't think it is worth cutting corners. Another option is to take two bad cranks and have one good one made from it. Just some options.
I have one with a new pto rod and bearing PM me if interested
2000+ srx crank will fit. It is heavier(about 1.5 lbs) so it does take longer to spin up. and they are easier to find than a good viper one(from personal experiance as I ran one in my viper for about a year)

You can use a complete SRX bottom end IIRC.

the guys steered ya in the right direction for the 2000-02 srx crank will drop right into your viper cases, the cases are also the same from the 2000-02 srx.
its the 98-99 srx where some of the parts interchange will come into play. You can use the crankshaft from a 98-99 srx in a viper but youll need to swap the PTO bearing with the viper, the 98-99 uses 2 seprate pto bearings where the viper and 2000-02 srx use 1 wide bearing, and the dowel pins are located in a differnt spot in the 98-99 case. the ignition pick up coil location is also differnt from the 98-99 to the viper/2000-02 srx, but as long as you can reuse your viper pto bearing and case, those cranks will also drop in and go.
