I think I'm gonna go with some slydog ldlers (5.350") and 7" rears. Does anyone have any experience with these. They are directional and supposed to help draw in snow for the slide and generally make things cooler, not to mention they look cool!! Also the idlers are slightly larger at 5.350 where I believe the stock idlers are 5.125" and bigger idlers are supposed to help w/hyfax wear. I'm open to opinions.
On that same note, if anyone needs idlers w/new bearing just installed or good rears w/the viper permanant bearing (Red or Silver) let me know. I'll make you a deal. Thanks Gil

Interesting,
What bearing do they come with and what colors can you get them in? Can you post a pic?
I am currently running 5.35 on my SRX that I purchased from rich motor sports. They look stock, just bigger. Not sure where he gets them from.

idler wheels
Bought them 2 years ago, they went egg shape after 2 mn, sent them back and was given a new set, these are also going egg shape, ie out of round, will be sending them back, hoping to get my money back. The only good thing is very little wear on my sliders.

Yes I put them on the SRX, I believe the size is the same as the Viper 5.125. The Slydogs were 5.35. The first set went out of round on there first trip about 200 miles, that was 2 years ago near the end of the year and low snow . Last year with the next new set I made it almost a full year but with a great snow year. I do around 2000 a year and ride hard.

Wow, That doesn't sound too good. I just thought they looked pretty nice and were a cheaper alternative to the billet wheels. I guess I should just save a little more money and get the billet wheels. On those, they are available either plain or with a rubber ring (Tire??) around the outer edge. I don't know if I really need the tire since I don't have studs on the outside so it will be riding on the rubber track only. Any opinions?? Gil

Hello Gil, I'm disappointed as well, they did look good and the fan idea seemed to work. My next move is to get the all blue idler wheels from Royal Distributing, I have had them on the rear axle for 10 years and there still good. My plan is to go for the Artic Cat size 5.35, just have to figure out the bearing and bushing requierd for our axle size. There only 22 to 25 $. My thoughts on going to billet, very nice looking way to much money, need to polish, they are known to pick up alot of ice & snow compared to plastic. You don't want to get the ones with the rubber as they have more friction and the last thing one needs is losing hunks of rubber after a few years. Just some thoughts.

Thanks for the imput Chris. I'll probably go plastic too. I just wanted to dress it up a bit but I don't want a lot of up keep or major expense. Gil
