i see pics of benders port work on a srx. very smooth and even, but not as much cut/taken out as what i would have expected.

Had my SRX ported 4 or 5 years ago by Don. He does the jugs, pistons and heads. Noticable power difference and has gone 4500 miles since with no issues. Did not change the good fuel economy either.

i've seen benders on the dyno. high 150's w/ safe jetting. low 160's leaned out.

So, you weren't happy w/mrvipers work on your motor?
Also, you have to be joking about hauck's porting being good, as his porting really sucks and especially for what you pay.
I just port my own stuff. Cheaper and I know its done right. You want the job done right, you gotta do it yourself.
Your best bet for srx porting, is Iantomasi in Canada. Valin has their contact info.
No, not joking, pat has won at many levels for a reason, don't ya think, must be his shitty porting huh?

What I've heard over the years is that Hauck ports his own stuff well.

Over the years I have had various Yamahas ported by Bender, Hauck, + even myself. I now use a true craftsman who ports my cylinders and shapes my heads to the specs I provide him with...its not that I believe I'm that smart I just like to have a handle in the finished product.
I have always been satisfied with the job done by Bender + Hauck but you have to ensure they know what you want. If you just ask for [or don't ask a all] + pay for a mild trail port, thats all you will get. You have to be very specific on what you want. It seems, from what I've observed on the forum, that Mrviper ,as well, is very good at understanding and providing the porting job the customer is looking for.
Do your homework and be very specific on what you are looking for and using the sled for..there is no use having a sled that needs 110 octane fuel when you are only trail riding.

Chris (I think) I am with you! I port all of my own stuff and haven't been dis-satisfied, besides I would only have myself to blame...mopar1rules said:I just port my own stuff. Cheaper and I know its done right. You want the job done right, you gotta do it yourself.
I have also heard that the port work that Don does gets results, but, its your sled and your $$$ so send your cylinders where you choose and if you don't get the performance that you thought you were going to gain or paid for, you can always go on the internet and bash and bitch that you didn't get what you "thought" paid for... (last of that statment is true as I have seen it time and time again)...
ALSO, "if" you build a motor for your sled and do not know how to harness the power (clutch it/jet it) you are just wasting your money and causing stress on the different systems in your sled and it wont stay together...

Thanks for everything guys, i know alot about clutch and jets, i have my srx perfect right now. Just when i get it trail ported ill just have to go to the beach all day and tune it again..lol i also race vintage oval sleds. GP 292, and a 340 enticer. They been ported by my boss who can port motors.but he would do it but its alot easyer and cheapr to find a cly. for the 340 if you mess up but then again 292 reed cly is getting harder and harder to find..Anyways i think it would just be easyer to bring it to a guy like Don "Mr.viper700" who has done tons of srx motors. Fusion i have herd some things about hauck and bender. They are pretty good but they r pretty big company and they just take it in and give it back. With don, hes a small business where as i can tell him everything i need and he will help me not with just the motor with everything clutching and jetting to get me started to tune it.Also a very easy person to talk to and he will answer all of my questions.
Thanks

Pat's personal race sleds are ported well. The customer jobs are what he lacks on. Last I remmeber they don't port in house. He has it outsourced to a guy.
