I have a 1998 VMax 700. Noticed that the wires on the plug for the temp sensor were broke off flush with plastic . Can these plugs be repaired?

That happened to me last year. I just found someone with plug for sale and cut the old plug off at the and soldered the 'new' used on on.
it can be repaired, but its a total pain.
inside that plastic plug are special fittings and seals. weatherpack or something like that. special tools, fittings, etc.
i did this once. i pried the tabs from the plug, carefully peeled the wires from the crimp fittings, added some new wire, re-crimped and sealed the connection with silicone.
if you know someone in the business of automotive electrical, they should have them.
as mentioned, the easy way out is cut and splice a different plug.
once repaired, keep that plug wire from resting on top of the plug.
