Will a srx timing key work on a sx red head? Or is there any other way to safely advance the timing for racing?

I can't answer your question but if you do end up advancing the ignition, be very careful to use the right gas. More timing = the need for more octane. I had the engine in my 2000 SRX 700 suffer from a burn down due to bad gas. Be careful! The damage cost me $700 in parts alone, good thing i do all my own work.
