Anyone have the template that Mountainperformance made for mounting a Mountain Max skid (h-arm w/141") in a 97-99 short track (w-arm) tunnel? part# kcx-2500
I need to locate a MM skid in a SRX chasis with the proper location.

i have the measures to convert the 97-99 rails to 2000 geometry, i also have the measures for putting a 2000 and up mountain skid in any yamaha proaction sled.

so, if your using a 2000 or newer mtn max skid with the 141, thats the easy way. if your using a pre 2000 skid and converting to 141 geometry, its a bit more involved.

no templates, just accurate measures for you to follow. i should have made templates years ago.

if you need a 141 skid or even a 144 skid, i have those as well.

Would you mind scetching the geometry on paper with the correct measurments?- just to eliminate any confusion.
I have a 2004 MM 141 w/144 extensions skid that is going into a 1998 SRX

i can draw something up later in the week or this weekend.
pm me with a mailing address.

in addition to drilling new mounting holes in the tunnel, you will need new drop brackets for the rear as well as backing plates for the new holes. you can use the stock backing plates if you want but those rivets can be a bugger to remove.

i have only used these measures for converting the 136 mtn skid to 141. never tried it on a 121 skid but i cant see why it wouldnt work depending on what track length your trying to achieve. should be a simple math equation.

process involves relocating the skid in the tunnel as well as relocating the front arm on the rails. i can walk you through it.

If you can scan it into a .pdf just email it to me: F0X06@yahoo.com
Thanks!

it is for monting a 136" skid with a 144" track

it would be for changing the 136 track and skid from 97-99 to the 141 specs of 2000 and up. the 144 was from the viper mtn, although you could factor the extra 3" into the equation.

ok , it's right,thanks

Would it be possible to still get that template? Haha I have a skid, I believe it's a 141 from a 2001 MM stretched to 159, and it's going into a 1999 mountain max currently a 136. I don't have any measurements from the newer sleds to aid me in transplanting this skid.

I have a template that I used to convert a 121" SRX to its current 146"

Did you use the 141 suspension and just set it back to get the 146? If those measurements will work for me that would help me tremendously. Lol

On another note. Other than the arm is there any differences between the 1999 and the 2001 suspension? Like travel, shocks, etc?

I used a 2004 141 MM skid with a 3" extension and pushed back to fit a 146 single ply 1-1/2 ripsaw track. As far as the the difference in pre-2001 skid, I think it's only the front arm.
