Hey guys. When I bought my 02 Viper last year, the sled came with precision skis installed on it.. The owner also had the skis that came stock on the sled, and they are SRX skis. Blue and black with black saddles. Anyone ever seen this on a stock Viper? Just wondering.......Thought it was kind of strange.

Havnt seen that before...don't even think precisions were big until a few years after that. I got mine in like 06 and I think they were a pretty new ski at the time.

Thanks Livewire. Just edited my post to sound less confusing. The skis it came off the floor with were SRX skis. He added the precisions down the road.

i also thought they went to the saddleless skis on the vipers but i just went out and looked at my brothers viper and it has the srx style on it also, if his are still stock, im not sure but... maybee its just the later years had the saddleless, the saddleless ones seem to have a bit taller keel to em also.

My Mountain Viper came stock with SRX style skis with the metal saddles on them. Terrible skis in all respects. Those Precision skis are pretty nice -- basically knock offs of Simmons Gen 1/flexi skis, which are about the best all around trail ski out there. Not the best at anything, but really good at everything.
I just sold off my Simmons for a pair of curves... Hopefully I made the right choice?

the srx saddles are taller than the viper ones and the handle attaches differently. the viper bolts are horizontal and the sxr/srx style are vertical.
i love my curves. almost as good as power steering and the floatation is pretty good too off trail.

Yeah, I have no complaints with the precisions. They turn easy, basically no darting at all unless I'm on heavily rutted super hard packed trails I do find they tend to push a little in wet sloppy snow but nothing a little body english can't take care of. Very happy overall. Until they wear out, I'm going to keep em' on the sled.
