what do i need to swap a 97-00 vmax rear into a 95 vmax600? will it bolt right in?
not a direct bolt in. first obstacle will be the difference in tunnel widths. the 95 will be about an inch wider. the ones that i have done i have simply made spacers to take up the difference.
next you will find the mounting to be slightly different. again, not a big deal, measures from the donor sled makes it all come together.

Unless you have the new suspension for free, I wouldn't bother. That newer suspension is only an incremental upgrade. Watch around and you can pick up a Polaris X10 suspension for cheap.

Here is a link from vmax4.com (www.vmax4.com/files/proactionWildmax.htm).
Many members have installed Pro-actions in their sleds using the info from Wildmax. 3/8"-1/2" aluminum spacers work to make up for the narrower skid.
smokingcrater is correct, X10 or M10 are better but you may pay a bit more for them. Just depends on what your budget is.....good luck.

If you want a Skidoo sc10 I have one that is very nice for $100 including shocks
