I just purchased this heel clicker set up off ebay that is for a Viper, here is the picture. I paid $155.00 for it, I think I got a good deal. My viper is pretty much stock except for 144 studs and silencer, what spring do I use the red or gray? Has anyone have this set up and if so how do you like it?

Thats a good deal with a helix included. I run the Red spring, good for backshift. It depends on the helix that you have. I run a 49/42 with 4.0 in the heel and 4.0 in the tip. Runs pretty good, much more low end torque.

Yeah, I wonder what helix is in that picture and was included in the package? How many studs do you have? I have 144 and cannot get it to hook up right now so I imagine I will have to do something about traction after I put this clutch kit in. The guy I bought it from said that the red spring was for if you pipe the viper, at least thats what he said the instructions said.. This kit is brand new. With the set up you mentioned above do you lose any of the top end??

I have 144 down the middle. You need to adjust the control rods all the way up or buy aftermarket traction rods. Otherwise, you will just spin on take off. I ran mine the otherday and saw 120 on the speedo. Last year with the same set up I had only 114. If you want new rods, I can get you the Fett Brothers hand adjustable type for $99. You wont be sorry if you get rods for traction.

With your set up what RPM's does it engade at? I need to get a clutch puller right? Thanks for your help I would like to put in a set up that someone already has working so I don't have to keep adjusting, I know I might have to but I have to do this work in my garage with no snow to ride around the house, so will have to take a trip north to try it out.

I believe it engages around 4500. You want to shoot for 8500-8600 shift rpms. It will depend alot on the helix angle you have. I am running the secondary @70* (1,6) with a green spring. It would be much easier with a clutch puller because that red spring is a pain in the a** to install. Two people would make it easier. The weights are easy to install in or out of the sled. The set up I mentioned is a good baseline, just pay attention to the rpms. If its higher than 86 0r 87, move weight to the tip. Look on the helix for a number that might tell you what angle it is. Bender also has code #'s so somebody here may know what the angle is.
