79 srx value?

hey guys what do you think the value of a 79 srx that is setup for grass drag is? the guy says he considers it a 8 out of 10, it comes with cool down cart so that leads me to believe this guy is serious and knows his stuff.

he said nothing has been permanently modified and it could go back to bone stock. it has a stock motor, stock skis, anti ratchet drivers, geared for 500ft.

he said it has multiple 2nd place runs against new stuff, and if his wife would drive it, it would win.

he considers it to be worth $2000. what do you think?

ps he wants to trade straight up for my 93 vmax4 that i consider worth $1000 :dunno:

yup, if it's a clean 8 out of 10, Take the trade and run. I sold my 79 last year that I considered a solid 7 for $2100.
 
yeah im really hoping it is as clean as he claims it is. i hate to do away with my "daily driver" for exchange for a race sled, but i am not one to pass up a deal either. i can always daily drive the vmax 540 i guess (my back is screaming already)

Where is the sled located? This story sounds familiar to me. There was this guy I meet at a local grass drag near me. It was a 79 SRX and his wife used to race it. He had it for sale then. This was in upstate NY.
 
Ya, in most cases these days, the actual "wife" has nothing to do with it. The excuse of "wife" is commonly used as much as the term "cash".


My "wife" will let me buy it if you will take my low ball offer. But I will pay you "cash" (real money)! :)
