I found a complete CPR 800 big bore kit for my SRX 700 and have a couple of questions for the pros.
Here are the details: Its in great condition and only used on the lake with 10 runs. Wiseco pistons, compression is around 16:1 to 17:1 so it will not run on pump gas with these heads and it has trail porting.
Now for the questions:
If I wanted lower compression to be able to run 91 pump gas, is it just a matter of changing to a different set of heads? ...I know they will have to be cut for the 800, or is there more to it?
He has a set of Bender pro stock pipes and a high rpm CDI also, but I am wanting to to keep it looking and sounding close to stock(keep DNR happy!). Pipes and a can at the most. Is the CPR 800 a good choice or should I stick to a little 700 and get it ported?

The CPR is a well built 780. Yes, you will have to have heads cut to bring your compression down to about 12:1 for pump gas. Run the stock pipes. Those race pipes would be horrible in the trail, and loud.

That setup should net you about 10 additional hp over a trail ported 700.

I run a cpr 780 and it runs pretty strong with stock pipes. there's still more on the table when I get my hands on a set of bender big bore pipes. there's bigger trail-able horsepower potential with the big bore with the right pipes, carbs, reeds and case porting. (been a few guys here who dynoed in the 180hp range) but it can be costly for that stuff too. trail friendly porting 150-160hp range for $500-$1000. trail big bore 170-185hp range (with the right components) $2000-$3000+.
comes down to what you're willing to spend for the amount of hp gained

I will be sure to let you know. I am thinking about the big bore, but I am not interested in the high rpm cdi or the prostock pipes. Also if I get it, I will not need the high compression heads if anyone is interested in them.

the heads can simply be remachined to lower the compression. I would actually check the specs first if I were you,(cc the heads and check squish clearance) alot of times what people tell you and something actually measures out to be are a bunch a ways apart.

hooh us up on the pipes and cdi box, if your not interested, just bought Hauck 800 sled.

Yes I am, couldn't turn it down at that money, It has a couple small issues but he is gonna make it right, very good guy to deal with.

Thats what I was thinking. I was going to buy it, but was a few hours late! I bought the 01 with the Ohlins instead.

Good deal, is it everything he said? my primary is all bent, but he is gonna get me one

I have known Jeff from years ago and this one looks to be good, but I haven't had the time to go over everything yet.
I just picked up the big bore kit tonight for $600!!! Just have to decide which sled to put it on now.
Are you interested in the prostock pipes and high rpm cdi? If so I can PM you the info.

I'm thinkin just the box for now, then probably do the carbs and keep it for trail sled fun
