you can but I don't think you'll have the right back pressure when you're done and performance could suffer. probably more so than an aftermarket can

That's what was done on my Vmax4. Definitely lighter and a bunch louder! Sounds like a fighter jet going across the field......great for racing but I put on a stock can for trail riding as to not be too irritating to the homes along trail.....I think you would be better off with an aftermarket can but most SRX gurus will tell you power gains will be minimal if any......

Guys talk about using a hole saw and removing a layer out of the bottom of the muffler to gain more sound.... I know they talk about the muffler in the sx chassis, I dont know if the SRX is the same style. Maybe find a used bender muffler? they sound good but you do lose a couple of HP (although Bender says you gain), they do sound good though.

ive heard that it will cause the sled to blow up because of low back pressure is that ture and is there a way to do it without have a welder

i believe there is a "how to" thread on this somewhere in the tech area. but this will cause the srx to suffer as the stock can is the best tuned for the motor. but if you dont care to loose some hp then you should be all set.
