Finally going to get around to putting on the set of Aaen pipes that I picked up last year. Can any of you guys that have run these tell me if I need to make anything to protect the plastic around the hole where the exhaust goes out or do I just stick the ends of the pipes out the hole and forget about it.

I was thinking maybe I should take some aluminum flashing or something and line the hole top and bottom and put some rivets through to hold it together.

Any other areas that should be protected? I bought the pipes second hand and may not have all the little bits.

Do something to cover up your wiring harnes. I had that heat shield tape on there and all the wires to gauge pod melted together over time.

Call olav aaen and he will make you up 2 plates that rivet on.
Then I just put the rubber donut back on.
If you buy the pipes used the plates are often left out.

Not necessary. I did not use it last year but will this year.
The rubber donut that fits the pipe exit next to the chaincase cover.

thats awesome. I wish JAWS was that helpful when you buy a set of their pipes used. still can't get any help with mine.

I met him in person about 10 yrs ago. when I took a course that he offered(Aaen Performance Clinic) when the snow show was in town here outside of Detroit. Learned aobut clutching and clutches, pipe building/design and power curves that the pipes create, theory, all kinds of neat stuff. Was good money spent in my book. His motto was if you need help call and we'll talk about it.

Anyone have a picture of how the springs are hooked up on Aaen's triple pipes. They sent me some heat shields but no install directions. I got em on and they look pretty good and feel solid, but would feel better if I could see how somebody else did it.

Thanks
