I have a 98 700 srx with 96 pics and it spins like there are none now the pics are in great shape i just assume i need more of them just curious how many more. How many are ypu guys running in yours?
I have 168 chisels no spin at all, You should pick your track up to 168+ trail studs for the 700

I know that with 96 I still spun out good,Now I have 144 which should do better on ice. 168 plus is a lot of rotating mass, but I know Andy that you do short drag races with yours.

I know my stock track has 192 in it. It's HEAVY! But it sure grips on ice!

I guess it all depends where you ride most of the time.I hit occasional ice once in a while. If you ride 90% of the time on Lakes.more studs may be better for your safety.Or if you do a lot of racing also and are always pinning it from a standstill.

transfer rods?
hell i ran 120 on ice in 660 and it hooked fine just depends on your stud choice and snow cond. Look for studs with a narrow tip.

Actually i've gone over the suspension and its in very good condition. I do have adjustable transfer rods and have set the suspension to get the weight transfer on the track to get it to hook up, its got 96 carbide woodys and i'm about 190 lbs and i'm tellin ya it may aswell have none the way it spins.im sure its better than having none but, u know what im sayin. I ride pretty aggressive, mainly trail but i have issues stopping aswell. Ive launched off corners unable to stop and burried into snow up to my waist im thinking after reading the comments /suggestions u guys have offered that i need 100 more pics and either longer carbide runners or dual carbide skis. Thanks guys for your input.

If you're spinning on trails and snow, not ice, then more studs will not help. You need a taller lug track to help grab more snow. It won't matter how many pics you put in, it will still spin on snow, only place it will help is bare ice.

This is pretty much what I was gonna say, except that I think more studs will help, but only on a packed trail. Different track is gonna make the biggest difference in my opinion.

I spin on everything ice included so have uped it to 192 carbide woodys now i k.ow i must run a longer carbide on my skis but am thinking of changing to the dual carbide simmons flex skis to eliminate the darting in the trails.
