How do you remove the wrist pin from a piston? Melted down mag side cylinder, can't figure out how to get it out...

you need a wrist pin puller. you can make your own with a piece of 1/4" threaded rod , two 1/4 nuts some washers and a deep socket big enuf for the wrist pin to slide into.

Also, if you warm the piston with a propane torch and hold it with your bare hand(if your stupid) and push the pin out with a socket and extension.
do not push sideways on the rod, hold the piston somehow.

Jorgenson bar clamp with a socket that is smaller than the diameter of the wristpin and a socket that the wrist pin will fit into(preferably 12 point).

I had the same problem with the severely damaged piston in my SRX engine. The piston was distorted due to a lean burn down. I could get the wrist pin circlips out but the pin woud not come out with a wrist pin puller, even after heating the pistone with a propane torch. I had to use a dremel tool to remove the material from the piston in the circlip area. The pin then came out with the wrist pin puller.

Whatever you do, you do not want to put any force or load on the connecting rod.
